I remember all those beautiful buildings, strong and silent. Gazing up transfixed by the skyline as I walked along. Flatiron, Chrysler, Empire State, Metropolitan Museum, MOMA, the library, Grand Central station. How systematically the streets are laid out in grids, making a map nearly obsolete. Whirling through Central Park searching for Strawberry fields and the Dakota Building, smiling at skaters and patting a horse mounted by a police officer. Munching on a hotdog by a roadside stand, revelling in the multitude of people all round. Queuing for Broadway tickets on Times Square early one morning and taking photos all around while waiting. Ordering Peking Duck in Cantonese at Chinatown. Climbing all the way up the Statue of Liberty. Lingering in bookstores and museums, falling in love with everything I see.

Falling in love again and again...
